2020 - A Summer to Remember 


Due to restrictions with Covid-19, the Claysburg Education Foundation hosted a 6 week FREE Virtual STEM and Arts program that started the week of June 8th, 2020. It was open to all Claysburg-Kimmel students going into 5th grade through 12th grade for the fall school year, but the videos were available to any area student to watch and complete at home. 


Some of the activities that were completed were are light saber paper circuit, create your own droid, studying sound length, finding location using parallax drawings, scavenger hunt and fractals in nature, catapults, family coat of arms, landscape sketching, shadow art and more! Instructions & videos for each project was posted on claysburgkids.us under Virtual Summer STEM & Art Lessons  Students submitted via email pictures & short videos of their projects after completion to earn 'Bulldog Bucks' and be eligible for prizes and awards.  If they completed both the STEM & Art Project; they earned a free cone token to be used at the CK Big Dipper.  2 Prize drawings after 3 weeks of lessons to give out prepaid VISA & Claysburg Pizza gift cards! 

 

Students also received a free Summer STEM & Arts t-shirt by completing 2 weeks of activities.
