2020 - A Summer to Remember

Due to restrictions with Covid-19, the Claysburg Education Foundation will be hosting a FREE Virtual STEM and Arts program starting the week of June 8th, 2020. It was open to all Claysburg-Kimmel students going into 5th grade through 12th grade for the fall school year, but we have now opened the program to all area students going into 5th through 12th grade! Any area student that registers now until June 29th will officially start the sessions held in July and be able to earn chances to win prizes at the end of July! Area students outside of Claysburg-Kimmel can still access the material in June; they will just have to provide any extra supplies that are needed.

For the Virtual Summer STEM and Arts program, teachers will be offering weekly projects that can be done at home. Lessons will be posted on the following weeks:

Week of June 8

Week of June 15

Week of June 22

Week of July 6

Week of July 20

Some of the activities planned are lightsaber paper circuit, create your own droid, studying wavelength, finding location using parallax drawings, scavenger hunt and fractals in nature, catapults, family coat of arms, landscape sketching and more!

Instructions & videos for each project will be posted on  There will be Zoom sessions periodically with the students.  Students can submit via email pictures of their projects after completion to earn 'Bulldog Bucks' and be eligible for prizes and awards.  Prize drawings will be held on June 29 and Aug 2.
